From now on, I will be deleting accounts with fake email addresses. You won’t be able to access the site as the system generates a password for you and emails it to your account.

Please only sign up if you really want to be here or if you just want to read, that is fine too, however, you MUST sign up with a working, valid email account. If any accounts bounce back, I’ll delete that account.

Birthday Bash

My eldset daughter will turn 5 next month. To celebrate her birthday, I’m giving you the opportunity to make a young girl smile.

You will need to write a story, GA rated and a childrens story at that. Can be HP related or original, your choice, must be at least 1000 words long and submitted by June 8th (australian time). I will read EACH story to my daughter and the winner will be the one she chooses as her favourite.

My daughter likes animals, the colours orange and yellow and musical things. This will be posted as a challenge. When the story is completed, add it to gluttony and then add it to the challenge as a response.

The winner’s prize is yet to be determined, I do know that the winner and the runners two runners up will be featured. I just haven’t decided what the main prize will be as yet. Possibly another amazon voucher, but I wanted something different. We’ll see, so stay tuned.

Mothers Day Competition:

The lead up to Mothers Day can be hectic, I know it is for me. So I’m running this competition starting on Mothers Day 12:00am May 11, 2008 – Standard Eastern Australian Time and it will run for two weeks, ending on 11:59pm May 25, 2008 -Standard Eastern Australian Time.

Entries will be in the form of a story. Harry Potter Fan Fiction related or original fiction, 1000 words minimum, betaed or un-betaed, your choice. The topic will be about ‘Mother’s’. Use your own imagination as to the content, an ode to Mrs. Weasley or your own dedication to YOUR mother.

The winner will recieve a $20 Amazon gift voucher. The winner will be picked my myself and my decision is final. Two runners up will be selected too and your stories, along with the winner’s will be featured. To enter this competition, post your story on Gluttony, go to the Challenges section and add your story as a response to the competition.

First and foremost:

Gluttony was created to be a place where stories can be shared. It is not a place to call ‘home’, although, you are free to do so. This Archive is NOT your life, it is a website and should be treated as such. If you are not having fun at Gluttony, then move on. However, if you find a place here, then I hope you make of it what you will.

Ego’s and power trips: These are NON-EXISTANT to any staff member. While I will ask for your opinions and take on board your suggestions, I will not tolerate ego trips or power plays. This is my Archive, I pay for the hosting space! The only one who can go on an ego boost or make a power play, is me! Although, please be warned, these things may include, but not limited to: re-defining the rules to suit myself or the members, having moments of complete insanity, asking for attention and pouting and being a 5yr old when I choose to do so!

Staff Suggestions: You are free to make suggestions in order to make Gluttony a place you like to visit frequently. These things can be ways to attract more people, better ways to cope with your positions, and ways to make things fun and lively. You may find that I will generally listen to all suggestions and just make things happen, however, if I don’t feel the need for it or there isn’t enough interest, then don’t be surprised if it doesn’t happen. I will acknowledge ALL suggestions though and if I don’t, feel free to poke me!

People from SAYS: Please do NOT forget your home. Most of you are dedicated SAYS members and I would love it if it stayed that way. I too love SAYS and although I will spend time on Gluttony and Temperance (Gluttony’s Forum), my dedication to SAYS will NOT falter. I hope this is something you do too.

If you do hold a position at Gluttony or Temperance, use it as a chance to also promote SAYS. If you find a member who seems lost or needs help that they can’t find on Temperance, don’t be afraid to say, “Hey, check out SAYS,”

Gluttony was also created in hopes that I can work closely with SAYS and its members, so I hope to not only gain members from SAYS, but to allow members to cross over and help SAYS gain more members and interest.

The Positions:

Validator’s: 1 position

Validating positions are for those aged 18 and over. This is mainly due to content that may be submitted to the archive that even makes us feel ill, so there is no way I will allow anyone under age to see these things. If you take on this position, you agree to abide by all the rules set out for Gluttony and Validate only in your free time. You are by no means forced to be on Gluttony at any given time and may validate as much or as little as you like. This is a voluntary position, you will NOT be paid in any way, shape or form, however, I’m sure I can give you some perks (DA Status, private places on the forum, etc.)

As Gluttony is so new, I can’t see this being a huge place, however, if things pick up and you don’t have the time to keep up with demands, you will either be asked to step down or I’ll just hire more people Again, while participation is required, I will not force you to be on Gluttony. However, if you have been inactive without informing me previously for more than 60 days (or two months), you will be demoted and all perks removed. This is a VERY generous time given and I hope to never have to demote anyone.

Moderator’s: This is for Gluttony and Temperance. 4 Positions

You will be my eyes on both places. Check for TOS violations, randomly select a member and check their stories for TOS violations. I do not have a way to have edits go back to the queue, so this has to be monitored closely. This position is open to ALL ages.

Angel is heading up the forums, so if you have any questions or suggestions as far as Temperance goes, you need to speak to her. She is like me just nicer and has more tact!

The forum is easier. Basically just general moderation of the boards and make sure everyone is abiding by the rules. Again, this is a voluntary position, you will NOT get paid in any way, shape or form, but perks will be given.

Essential Criteria: For both positions, you need to be relatively sane, most definitely mature enough to handle the positions but most importantly, insane enough to keep up with me. Fun is the number one priority, if we’re not having any, why are we bothering?
