Summary:

My eldset daughter will turn 5 next month. To celebrate her birthday, I'm giving you the opportunity to make a young girl smile.

You will need to write a story, GA rated and a childrens story at that. Can be HP related or original, your choice, must be at least 1000 words long and submitted by June 8th (australian time). I will read EACH story to my daughter and the winner will be the one she chooses as her favourite.

My daughter likes animals, the colours orange and yellow and musical things. This will be posted as a challenge. When the story is completed, add it to gluttony and then add it to the challenge as a response.

The prize will be a $20 Amazon Gift Voucher

Summary:

This is a tribute, not a challenge, but a great place to find those stories dedicated to a young man who's life was taken from us too early.

Rob may not be the most famous person, but to us who love Harry Potter, his death is a huge tradgedy. A Part of our HP family has gone and this is our way to remember him. A young man we never knew, but wish we had the chance to get to know.

It's pretty easy. Complete as many challenges as you can from the SAYS challenge section. Your story has to have a beginning, plot, and end. Meaning: it has to be a story. Not something you can win overnight.

Shattered Dreams Challenge by war and peace [Responses - 1] [Report This]
Summary: It's not you, it's war that's cruel And if some dreams were smashed... Perhaps it's best they were. - The Fall of Saigon, from the musical Miss Saigon. In the Potterverse, there have been many dreams smashed by war. Harry's dream of living with his parents, Sirius' dream of being there for his godson, Cho's dream of possible future romantic involvement with Cedric, Lupin's dream of finally finding love and raising his child... And then there are the dreams that are only hinted at: Molly's dream of dying before her children, Lily and James' dream of raising Harry... The list goes on. So my challenge is this: Write a story that focuses on a dream that's been smashed by war. It can be one of those mentioned above, or a different one that I haven't mentioned (because there are many). The story can be however long the inspiration holds out for - it the challenge gives you the fantastic plot bunny for a novella, then go for it! The Rules. - Must be below M rating (MA18+ on Gluttony) - It has to involve the dream of a canon character (this is not restricted to the dreams we know about - you could talk about James Sirius Potter's dream of... Well, that's your job) - It must not be AU. Any Takers? There's no deadline!

Summary: In my humble opinion, Mike Oldfield is one of the greatest living composers and musicians. To honour this extraordinary, talented and versatile person, I now challenge you to write a songfic, based on one of his pre-selected songs. The most important criterium is that your fic must reflect the atmosphere of the song you have chosen. No restrictions as to era, characters, pairings, but your fic has to be ToS compliant. Summary: You may know that I've gotten very much into fluff lately, thanks to writing one-shots for Em and Andy. But i need to get back to my roots of angst and mysterhorrance. What's more, I want not just any angst and/or mysterhorrance - I want to see twisted angst and/or mysterhorrance. Twisted here can be unconventional, can be vindictive... something completely out of the blue. I really, really want to read something original and from left field... I want to be blown away by what the great writers here are coming up with. So. The challenge. Write something, anything, that's absolutely twisted, vindictive - a complete turnaround of both canon and fanon. One-shots and short stories only, please. AU is not just allowed but welcome - something completely original. Something twisted. It isn't just the pairing that is twisted, it's the characterizations. This challenge is calling for blaspheming, character-bashing - or just plain oddness. No deadline - I know as well as anyone how stressing real life can be :) Go on! Explore your twisted side!

Summary: Well we all know that Victoire translates to Victory because she was born on the anniversary of the battle. It should be a day of celebration...but what's it really like? Her boyfriend knows he lost his parents that day...and a grandfather to the same cause. Her grandparents lost a son. Her aunts and uncles lost a beloved brother and friend. Are they really up for celebrating with the rest of the world? I would love to see some stories featuring Victoire on her birthday. Is she the only Weasley child who doesn't get a birthday bash...or does she have one knowing that everyone is putting on a front for her? She can be of any age...heck it can even be from Bill or Fleur's point of view the day she's born. All ratings and lengths acceptable! :)Deadline - one year today :P So that's 10/01/09! :P Enjoy!
