How heart wrenching. Poor Andromeda. No one ever thinks that she is older, sadder, more exhausted, more full of grief, and still expected to raise a child that reminds her of all she's lost. You captured that desperate love for Teddy, and contrasted it with her deep desire to be free of the constant reminders of what is gone. Her fear of failure is palpable. This is done really well.

Jessi, this is beautiful. You're always so versatile - capturing the most seemingly-insignificant details and figuring out what happens behind them. Andromeda having to see that reminder of her daughter and husband - of course it must be abolutely tearing her apart. You wrote that so well, and I love this :D

You really, really, really show how angsty you can be with this piece.

You portrayed Andromeda's grief so well, that you had me in tears. Her frustrations about raising a child and not her own was heart wrenching. Although she loves her grandchild and would never hurt him, trying to deal with her loss and be happy enough to care for a child has to be hard, especially when that child reminds you so much of the person you lost.

I loved it, and in a way, I could relate :) An excellent job here, you are really starting to show how wonderful you can write when you dig in deep enough and evoke those dreaded emotions and bring them to the surface!! It is stories like this one that remind me why I admire your writing so much and why you inspire me.
