It's no wonder this one won. It's beautiful. 10/10

Author's Response: I take that as a huge compliment from you. The more I read of your writing, the more I appreciate it. I think we have similar styles. Thanks so much for taking the time to review. I will be coming by to do your stories, since I get the joy of validating them!!!

Oh Shannon!  This was just wonderful!  Truly, I adored it.  I was able to announce my first pregnacy to my parents at Christmas (I'd found out a week before... boy was it hard to keep THAT secret!) and I had my mom open a picture frame to hold the baby's picture.  You really grabbed hold of the melancholy feeling that I'm sure would be running through Molly in the quiet.  The Burrow may be many things, but quiet is not usually one of them ;o). Well done!

Author's Response: Thanks so much! Your review just made my day. That melancholy, nostalgic feeling, mixed with a little mother's grief, was exactly what I was aiming for. I'm so happy you enjoyed it. It was MUCH lighter than my Christmas entry here, that's for sure. I appreciate you taking the time to review for me. Thanks!

Had an 'empty nest' Christmas, myself, this year, so this hit close to home.

What a sweet little story. . . well done.

And my grandkids favorite is cinnamon rolls, too!  And my sausage cheese for snacking on, all Christmas day.

Bravo!

Author's Response: I just got a picture in my mind of Molly sitting there in her kitchen staring out her window, listening to a quiet house and hating it. Then I ran with it. I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for reviewing!
