Very nice "missing moment" story. I, for one, greatly enjoyed it!

Very few fics are being written with house elves in the main role. Still, their emotions are expertly conveyed by a human, a Muggle :D

I love WInky and DObby.

This is a very good explaination of how Winky wound up at Hogwarts, but, as we know, it'll be a thankless, uphill slog to get her to come around.

I was wondering why she popped off to Hogsmeade, of all places? Was it ramdom or did she know someone there?

I saw this at HPFF awhile ago and I kept on meaning to read it. I'm so glad I finally have. I really enjoyed it. I love Dobby's concern for Winky and how he ultimately decides he will help her through her pain and to teach her that being free isn't so bad. Dobby seems so like the Dobby we know in this story, and I enjoyed reading this. Great story!

A very cute story! You did a fine job of writing the house elves believably and your characterization of Dumbledore was excellent as well. It's always great fun when a writer adds new details to what we know from canon. Very nice work!
