I used to like geometry....but now...?

Just kidding, H#!l, that was 40 years ago.

Nice use of James frustration and Lily's seeming indifference.

Ah, then the light bulb goes off! Typical male thought pattern.

I liked it.  Brought back memeories of debating different theorums with our teacher, until he proved why it was so.

Acceptance and adaptability to a seemiigly impossible situation.  To make it work.  ( I meant to do that - HE!HE!HE! )

Well, this is most interesting yet! I love your metaphor abuse, don't worry :P Alliteration is definitely key here, especially when you tie it all together at the end. I like the turn you let it take, so that it's not completely angsty, but there's a hopefulness to it, if that makes any sense. I really, really like this! You're incredible!

And what a beautiful meaning the metaphor had. I really loved this. I saw how sad it was their relationship never coming together, never meaning, never merging. Then, that ending, the second kind of parallel lines.. wow. I just loved that. I loved how this came together and I love how you described everything along the way. How'd you come up with this? It was great. Really.. I loved it.

Author's Response: Thank you so much, Jamie! I happen to be fond of extended metaphors, just so long ad they’re not too extended. ;) This piece was a product of way too much Geometry shoved down my throat over the years. All of those years I thought that I would never use Geometry… well, I was wrong. It proved to be quite handy after all. ;)

can I just say I love you? All your stories are amazing, and I love it how you base it all on something simple, and quite often related to maths or science. As a highschool student, I find this highly entertaining. Now I'm off to see if I can find one on Pythagoras! xD

Kidding, kidding. Taryn (ginwannabe) got me onto you and I worship her for it. Almost as much as I worship you.

And, end pointless ramble!

Over and out,
Emma xx

Author's Response: This review just completely made my day! Thank you so, so much!rnrn*is sheepish* Yeah, I have four stories based off of science or math or poems... stuff I wasn't too keen on in high school (well, except the poems, I loved the poems, but I hated analyzing them and just picking, picking, picking at them.) I'll defintely have to thank Taryn for recommending my stories to you, and I'm so glad that you like them!rnrnYou've no idea how much I appreciate your comments! They made me smile. :) Thanks again, Emma!

What he wouldn’t give to be perpendicular instead of parallel. He would meet her boldly. He’d have the courage to run straight to her and love her and claim her as his own. They would be direct and honest, no longer holding on to any secrets or lies since they would have revealed their true selves. He would encounter her head on, daring and wild and true, with an impact of incredible force and magnitude. But alas, James and Lily are not perpendicular.

Love that tiny piece where he longs to be perpendicular.  And then when you switch to the other type of  parallel lines, where they are constantly together and doing the same things, living the same life...beautiful.  I'd never have thougt of using geometry and science to describe a relationship and you do it so perfectly.

Author's Response: I hate when romance is made into science, so I thought I'd make science into romance. ;) And I'm so pleased that you think I do it well! I'm glad you like it, Taryn. Thank you so much for reviewing!
