Author's Response: Thank you! I appreciate your review. This was one of my first one shots that came to me after reading an interview with JKR. She said that George and Angelina had a broken relationship, but they were broken together. I thought of this, though it isn't very canon, and had to write it down.

This is absolutely beautiful. You're right in a way; it's a little rough, but that's part of what's so great about it. This is one of the most sincere things I've ever read. It's not a load of forced rubbish and "my heart is dead, I want to die with it" and so on. This is so - genuine, and hopeful in a way. It also shows how what George did is really a selfless thing - trying to be his brother for Angelina, even though he knows he can't. This is written so well - it's my favorite story of yours, Shanon. Wonderful job.

What a wonderful, wonderful story!

It didn't quite make me tear up, but it was close!

Lovely details of Fred and Angelina's too short time together and a bitter sweet ending. I understand both Angie and George's reasons for loving each other and Fredie and that makes it a good thing. Fred would be proud.

Probably blow a razzberry at all of this sentimental drivel I'm writing, but that's Fred for you!

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it. Some people expressed dismay at the idea that George was somehow the consolation prize in the relationship, but I didn't see it that way. They both began by trying to fill the empty space Fred left. George stepped right into Fred's life, and took on all his responsibilities. Angelina, being completely lost without Fred, allowed it. But a fifteen year marriage can't be built on that alone, and they did grow to love each other. Thanks for the sweet review. You may have written sentimental drivel, but only in response to mine!

Oh, WOW! What an interesting twist! It makes me sad, though, that it seems as if she were using George as a way to replace Fred. I'd like to think that maybe there's more than one soul-mate for everyone. The line where living with George and seeing what Fred would have been is a curse tugged at my heart. I guess I wish for more for George.

Author's Response: Yeah, I think I kinda wanted more for both of them. It is sad, but I think it was a feeling of responsibility on George's part, wanting to step into Fred's place and take over the part of husband and father he would have filled. Angelina, too lost to really recognize what was taking place, went along out of desperation to be close to some small part of Fred. It turned out okay in the end, except for that sense of something missing in her, and that snall nagging doubt in the back of George's mind. Anyway, that's how I see it. Freddy got a dad, and that's the most important part. Thanks for the review!
