This is a heart wrenching look at what Severus must have gone through after he was forced to kill Dumbledore.  You paint the scene vividly and poetically.  Well done.

Juls, this is wonderful! I love the power that short pieces such as this can emanate. Snape is very realistic - you see the man behind the murder and so much more. This makes me think more about that time in the book. When I first read it, of course, I was so angry that I didn't care what was running through his head - but this story helps remind people who were like that (and maybe still are) of the truth. Great job, juls!
