Very nice, I had no idea where you were going with the end of this story. Thank you

Author's Response:

I think this was one of the first stories I ever wrote.  It was supposed to be a "Snape/Narcissa" paring for a collection in HPFF entitled "Love" or somesuch.  The idea of a regular romance left me cold -- both characters were too interesting for that -- so I took it in a different direction.  I'm very glad you liked it.  Bella.

This is a very unconventional story, to start with. This unconvenionality, however, lies not primarily in the fairly high AU-content, the deviation from Canon fact.

What clearly distinguishes this story from the multitude of other, million times overwritten, Severus stories is the love you handle your main character with.

Severus Snape had never gotten over his love for Lily Evans. This love, finally, consumes him, so many years later, when he starts to show signs of affection towards Narcissa. Saving her, in fact, he sacrifices himself.

One small remark. In the paragraph, where Snape lies on the bed with Narcissa, you use the phrase "acutely conscious" twice. While an absolutely proper one, I'd replace the second occurrence with a synonym.

As always, your literate, adult, poetic writing style makes it a wonderful reading experience.

Author's Response: Thank you so much, Zoltan, for being the first reviewer of this story on Gluttony.  I haven't looked at it in awhile, and I'd hoped the bugs were out.  Thank you for pointing out what I missed.  Thank you also, for your kind words and support.
