Well, well, well, that puts the kybosh on most of the "extra" activities that the students have thought were part of their time at Hogwarts, doesn't it?

Dave shouldn't have fibbed to the Slytherins, 'casue you know they'll find out and then he'll see what it means to be turned on by the Slytherins. Maybe he'll get away with part of it, but him NOT being a pureblood is sure to come ti light.

The formatting of this chapter was a bit difficult to read (no paragraphs), but it was still an excellent addition to the story. I loved the details of Dave's dream and then his experimentation with his new power. The meeting with the phoenix chick was cute, as well as intriguing. I think that it would seem odd and a bit disorienting to have some strange man come into your house and make spoons fly across rooms while your child explains that the future you had planned for him isn't going to happen. I think you wrote Arthur perfectly in character. His reaction to the 'felly-phone' was classic. Having Dave need a wand with a Phoenix core was very fitting, and the creation of the new wandmaker was very creative. I could see the little round Greek bobbing around the shop, looking for a wand for Dave. Having his small amount of hair be set on fire didn't even phase him. Ollivander might have gotten a little bent out of shape about that. Excellent OC. Great chapter.

Realistic as to the way a "muggle mother" would likely react when confronted with a child offered a spot at Hogwarts. The contrast to the two Ministries was particularly interesting. Again, a very well done chapter.
