HAHA! Don't even show this masterpiece on that other site! It belongs here, where the real conoisseurs reside!

I was literally droolingduring my reading exercise. I haven't read such an excuisite English for quite some while. I know two, maybe three authors, who can match up with you. Especially Lucius' manners were awesome.

Nah, I should have written Envy about myself...some day I want to reach THIS class of writing.

* drool *

Author's Response:

Why you silver tongued devil, you! Flattery will get you  . . . .everywhere with me!

Don't worry, my good stuff stays here! Okay, maybe on eHPF, soon.

Thanks for the R & R. I see there's more, so I'm off to check out what else you read.

ONWARD! HE!HE!HE!

I found this chance meeting to be very interesting.  I found the characterizations of Moira and Lucius compelling and believable in the moment.

I'm not sure how I feel about Lucius in general after DH, so I can easily go with a Lucius who is not necessarily 'reformed', but at least realizes that he's wasted part of his life, as you indicate.

Author's Response:

Anyone who has grown up thinking that what they have learned at their parents knne ( Pureblood being better than mudbloods, etc. ) would have to have a really rude awakening to change their minds.  If it's ingrained as deeply as Lucius' hatred was, it will be an ongoing learning process for the rest of his life.  And he will meet Muggleborns and halfbloods who are idiots, but that's the way it is . . .  there are some purebloods who are a little light in the grey matter department, too.

I REALLY loathed Lucius ( see my two long stories ) but decided to give him a different ending, as per JKR, so I wrote him into Journal Notes and also into The pleasure of your company, with a different attitude.  Glad you liked it and can see where I'm coming from on this.  He can be quite the charmer when he wants to be and I'm going to reference that dinner at the Ritz in one of the chapters of TPOYC.  So, stay tuned, boys and girls.

Thanks for the R&R, they make this old broad's day!

woah! i love this one. really superbe. since i dispise cliffhangers i think you should tell how mr.granger and narcissa react to the dinner engagement. and thier presents. but great story.

Author's Response:

Hi Collette!

You'll hear more about that in the short story I'm posting now "The pleasure of your company." I'll at least mention that they've enjoyed each others company and now that you mention it, I might do a one shot about the dinner.  Oh boy, oh boy, another plot bunny!

HE!HE!HE!

Thanks for the reviews.  Enjoy the other stories and one shots here on Gluttony!

Lucius Malfoy in "sweats", now there's an image that will stick in my mind! (knowing Draco, they were very posh and expensive sweats :D ) I like your characterization of Hermione's mother very much, she is a character we don't see much of in fanfiction. I'm a bit surprised that Lucius was willing to speak to her in public, but as you said, he has had enough time to think about his mistakes and try to see the world in an entirely different way than he did as a Death Eater.

I wonder if you would ever write a sequel with these characters at Draco's wedding. That would be fun!

Author's Response:

NOW you've done it . . . a pot bunny let loose in my brain!

I'll get you for this, Bucko . . .  Thanks for the review!

I liked the idea of Draco having steered his father into a Muggle jewelry shop. Of all the people to bump into! Well done. Just enough stress on poor ol' Lucius to make it believable.

Author's Response:

I just 'moved' your other review, so this is going above and beyond! Thanks!  I'm a really strange puppy, but I can just see Jason Issacs doing this little scene and playing it for all of the laughs, at old Lucius' expense, that he could wring out of it, can't you?!?! HE!HE!HE!

Well, it's buckety, buckety back to work for little Ilex! TA!
