Oh yesss, it was fun to write :) Bless them little plot bunnies :)
In fact, there are lots of wizards with ordinary jobs: Healers, shopkeepers, law enforcement, whatever you want; only, the main heroes, the characters most fanfic is being written are none of the ordinary people... Anyway, the dreaded Rita Skeeter did have a prominent role in the books, as you can recall.
Well, I do watch horror movies, but I'm very picky; here I tried to use some of my favourites and tried to make an ending which would properly haunt the reader for a while :)
Thanks for your wonderful review and have a nice day,
Zoltan
Where to start this answer? Well, celticbar had sent me a long letter, so I know she liked the story. I'm immensely glad. Knowing her interest in horror movies, it just seemed fit to give her a heck of a nightmare :) so it HAD to be creepy.
Come on, having kids still doesn't mean you're old, does it? :) The movies included there were Silent Hill, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Shining and Dracula, all of them true classics in their subgenres. My all time favourite is still The Exorcist, but no matter how I tried to fit Regan in this story, it didn't read well, so I omitted this part at the end.
Well, the writer's block has been modelled from ... me. Two of my stories do suffer from a terrible writer's block...
Thanks for your fantastic review and see you soon,
Zoltan
Well, that about covered all of MY favorite nightmares. . . . the only one left out was . . . no, I'm not telling because I don't want to see it in print! HA!HA!
I thought for a minute she'd see two puncture wounds on her neck when she looked in the mirror. . . . I like you ending better.
HE!HE!HE!
MORE PLEASE!
Hey Holly, my dearest,
I don't like nightmares...having too much of them LOL. Hmmm...lemme guess...a killing clown, or the puppet from the Chucky series? No, the zombie cat from Pet Sematary!
Puncture wounds would have been way too trivial :) Had to make a link between dream and reality, didn't I?
SOOOO glad you liked it. I wrote it in little less than 45 minutes, from my head. No plot, no forethought, nuffin, just plain' ol' improvisation.
Zoltan
Thank you very much for dropping by!
I wrote this short drabble in little less 45 minutes. I had random ideas in my mind and I just wanted to put them on paper. Glad they worked out.
There was a direct reference on movies when she said "too much Muggle movies", and the SHining is simply sooo creepy... one of my all-time favourites.
Some more stories to come, so stay tuned!
And last, but not least: Happy Easter!
Zoltan
