It makes me wonder what has happened in life that has brought our Rose to this place. The descriptions and elements used are all fitting, and they convey visuals as well. I get a hint of things gone wrong in the past, but an acceptance of these things and a moving-on. I am reminded of Miss Sook in Truman Capote's writings, or even Idgie Threadgood from the film "Fried Green Tomatoes" - women who did their own thing with little regard for how the rest of the world might see it. Well done!
Thanks so much for reviewing! I apologize for the (very) late response! Ah, Rose. I don't think she had a particularly hard or sad life, but I think at some point, she chose to be alone. She is quite independent, as you mentioned. Overall, I'm very pleased you liked this little drabble! Thanks again for reviewing! (:
