I admit, I am of 2 minds over this one. While I do not know about any precedent in British schools to establish a new house, although I do figure it probably happens.
The brown wolf (Wulfric, nice catch!) of Dumbledore was clever, but I'm not sure about a purple Hippogriff for Snape.
It will be interesting to see what develops of this. It's a risky topic to say the least, but one I think worth exploring.

wish I could take credit for the 'Wulfric' but at first I thought about Sirius/Snuffles and then couldn't tie him in to the need for a new house.
the Hippogriff was troublesome also, first I thought of Hagrid being a half Giant, but then I didn't want to have a house based on 'racism'
If I cannot tie the two in to this story, up to my satisfaction, I will just get rid of it, Just something to play with while watching the snow fall
