No, I don't love Walrus, but I do love Fat Lady and Sir Cadogan! Poor Filch had to use glue. He's so pitiful. This is very funny and true to canon too. To tell you the truth, though, I laughed at the Author's notes almost as much as the story. You are funny! Great story.

I loved the comment about getting the Weasley twins to do Vi's dirty work for her. That does have its possibilities. I love Fat Lady's attitude and personality. Poor Cadogan. He can't help how annoying he is. And, he did go away when she asked. That's a step!

VIRUS! Holy freaking Merlin, how much do I love Virus? ZOMG it is LOVE. It really, really is. I never would have thought I'd love Virus (as in, the actual non-living thing that infects people) but I do now! I was squeeing incessantly at the 'we' bit. The Fat Lady's reaction was priceless, too! Too bad there was no Walrus himself :( Promise me we'll see him again? Please? *cheers*

Did I mentioni I love Mrs. Norris too? Call me crazy (I bet you do :P) but she's just so despicable but so lovable too! And that's certainly something, since I don't like animals. :P And Flich - well, let's just say I can actually see why Courtney's in lvoe with him ;) *is insane, but how is that a surprise?*

And FADOGAN ITSELF. How can I, who made up the ship (if not the name - thanks for that, btw), NOT loveitttt?! Well, I do. Tremendously. Cadogan is, like the kitty, despicable but adorable. He makes me laugh, as does the Fat Lady. And Virus.

Because siriusly (shush - couldn't resist!) - Virus is the highlight of this story. The ship name kicks butt and the characters themselves are LOVE! *loves*

I ADORED your squeeish ramble about Virus. Well, I adored your squee-ish ramble about it all, but I think that the bit about Virus was the best. I swear that you'll see him again... at the wedding! *dies* Kidding, Kidding... there shall be no Virus wedding. Or Virus babies (however much Taryn is convinced that portraits can do that kind of thing). Nah, you'll see him soon, I promise. I enjoyed torturing FL far too much! Of course I love you!  To the moon and back, and this is still delightful.  I especially loved the plucked eyebrows and memoirs bit, lol.  And how can you NOT Virus?  I saw youre response to Gubby's review.  This is a great Fadogan...it's sarcastic and caustic and you've actually done a good job of giving The Fat Lady a personality...we don't see too much of it in the books.  You've done a good job with Cadogan as well...loved him falling off the other side of the horse ;o).  Well done, Twitty!

Ahh.. so the bit of romance starts to form. I like it! I like that she seems so completely obvlious to it, but her friend tells her and it makes her think more about if he really does like her. That shall be interesting. I love the talking between the portraits and the friendships they've made. It's great! Great job with this story so far!

Hello! Yeah...I've read this...Many times. And I like it more each time I read it. It's FANTASTIC Emma. Sure, it ain't REALLY Taryn's challenge, (I don't think SOMEONE was wearing their glasses (Do you even have glasses?(Ha! A bracket inside a bracket inside a bracket!)) when they read her challenge), but never theless, you did a fantastic job. All I'm waiting for now, is to know the mystery! You see, I was reading this thing on writing mysteries (for my challenge), and they said 'it's like a bullet train, and you're riding it the whole time', because it's fast-paced and fun. But...they might have been wrong. Wonderful chapter Emma!

I'm really loving the FL's personality! It seems that her life has really changed since she had to be restored by Filch. Sir Cadogan is now in her path, having stood in for her in her time of need. But she thinks he's a cocky jerk, which is most definitely is... I have a feeling that she will be warming up to him soon - maybe just because her friend is now dating Walrus... Hrm....

Author's Response: Thanks Jessie! I can no longer read her parts in canon because she is simply too boring! LOL... and I nearly cried when Walrus only got one mention in the whole series. Cadders most definitely is a cocky jerk, and I love writing him as one... hopefully he's learn that it's not the way to FL's heart. I just had to put Virus in there - it actually didn't exist until Gubby suggested it, so thank her!

I think you (or Gubby) chose the perfect time for a romance between these two portraits, since the FL had the most action in POA. I like the way you show her gossping with her friend and establishing the portrait-society! As of right now she thinks Cadogan is annoying, but I'm thinking she will have reasons to change her mind now that she's been attacked.

May I remind you that you've never asked, nor have you even read about my awesometastic house-elf! :P (If you have, I'm sorry. If not, go to andy's HPFF page IMMEDIATELY!) But I digress. I just read Taryn's Fadogan - you know, the one I was expecting - and comparing it with this, I think I'm glad that both versions of the Fadogan ship are out there. Taryn's was more contemplative and reflective and more Trio-oriented than anything, but this is lighthearted fluff focused solely on the portraits. It's wonderful to see this of a ship no one else has heard of before! :P

But again, I digress. Your characterization of this was extremely intuitive and made me grin ridiculously. Especially Walrus! Walrus/Violet is LOVE! We have to figure out a name for that one. Wiolet? :P For serious, it's the little quirks you've put in that made this first chapter. That, and the time period. How perfect, set during PoA when she and Cadogan had a major-ish role! I LOVED the Sirius-ness, by the way. No pun intended. :P

Okay, I'm partially insane... but we all know that! Lovely, charismatic job and I'm waiting eagerly for more! I still find it hilarious you've actually stolen someone else's challenge... but tbh, who cares anymore? As long as you get the Weasley thing done. ;) But adorable! *glomps*

The only thing that's stopping me from going and crying in a corner about how bad my Fadogan is compared to Taryn's is the fact that she could be my mother. I'm sticking by that. It was absolutely amazing! Although the Fat Lady and Sir Cad being on such... good terms is worrying me slightly. They must hate eachother for ever and ever! *evil grin*

As for the name of Violet/Walrus, we have dicussed this at SAYS: it's Virus all the way. What a stroke of genius! :P

I don't think I've actually ever written fluff before... am I doing a decent job you think? With the time period, I thought that was how you came up with the ship in the first place, and therefore that was the obvious place to put it! No? Ah well!

The characterisation just kinda... came to me. I got Walrus off the lexicon, and the only information I had was that he lived next to Vi and that he had a walrus moustache, so I had to build on that somehow!

I'm working on the next chapter now!
