The first thing that comes to my mind in reading this story is that it has a wonderfully scandalous streak to it. I especially like the part with the veil between their lips. It makes great tension and great symbolism as well.

I think you do Sirus very well here. While he's known for reckless behavior, his friendship with James was almost a sacred thing that he would never have betrayed (unlike Peter). Here Sirius is forced to exercise great restraint where Lily is concerned, and we all know that restraint is against his nature.

You also capture the tragic side of Sirius. For all of his good looks, charm, and entertainment value, Sirius Black was one of the most tragic figures in the series.

*runs into review box and hides in corner, ashamed* Need I grovel at your feet for you to forgive me for not getting here for a month? *grovels at your feet* I'm sorry! I'm a chronic procrastinator! *cries* But okay, now I'm getting a bit carried away. Why, I ask, didn't I read this gorgeous one-shot sooner? You're constantly saying you write a lot of Dramione. And while this is true, your Sirius/Lily fics are astounding. Especially this one. This isn't just passion, as it was in Menace. This is pain and - for lack of a better word - drangstance. This is the epitome of drangstance.

From the beginning it's melancholic but then once we get into the flashback and describe how Lily never noticed him in that way until she and James were together... heartwrenching. And then the wedding, or the moment just before. I said earlier that I don't mind a good cry; this didn't make me cry, per se, but it made me very sad and pulled on my heartstrings. It was gorgeous.

Especially their conversation. Lily's stance on her feelings is intriguing, as is Sirius': they both know that she loves James as well, and he loves her back... but as you said, Lily never craved for him as she did for Sirius. It is absolutely heartwrenching, especially the kiss. *swoon* I remember now why I used to be the hugest Sirius fangirl, but this fic just makes me go "AWWW" and "OMFG" at the same time! The most powerful was the Liar line they both whisper to each other. They know they still love each other and yet they outright lie. And what made my heartache even more - "She waited and heard James walk away, knowing that he’d never doubt her word." That he's still so devoted to her, and Lily's betraying him as she is, as is Sirius... I mean, really. What's not to love or sob over? Gorgeous job, Elena. You are officially my Sirius/Lily idol. *hearts* Gorgeous, delightful, heartwrenching drangstance at its best!!!
