For those new to the site and the older members, I thought I'd fill you in about Temperance.

Temperance is Gluttony's forum for you to utilise. Not only can you ask questions about things you may want or need to know about Gluttony, but its open for you to have fun, discuss The Harry Potter World and The Twilight World , there is a quiet, small RPG section, story promotion area, view the current and past Featured Stories and Featured Authors, current and past competitions and heaps more.

Don't be afraid to sign up and have a look around. Its really quiet over there, so it'll give you all a new place to make your mark and have some fun :)

Well, its 2009 here in Australia, so Happy New Year to all :) Thank you to all of you who have been with me from the beginning til now, and I hope the new year brings more writing fun!!

Well, Christmas day is almost upon us and no matter what you are celebrating at this time of the year, I wish you all a happy and safe holiday :)

During the holiday period, validation may take slightly longer as we all see to our real lives.

Also, i'll update the featured list with the Comps stories, as well as other festive stories for you all to read over the holidays. Remember, if you have a story that revolves around or is in the time frame of this holiday,make a comment to this news article and I'll add it to the featured list.

MORE competitions are on the horizon with some wonderful prizes to be won :) Gluttony's 1st birthday will fall on Valentines day, so there will be loads more fun to come!!

There are only 5 days left to get those stories in and I only have 2 stories so far. I will be posting these stories very soon, so hurry and get those stories in :)

Gluttony is NOW open to host Twilight Fan Fiction. So all you Vampire, Edward/Bella fans, post your stories here!!! :)

I've been away the last few days, on a road trip. Will be home later tonight and I'm rather excited to see some new stories!!! I'll be reading tonight, that'sz for sure!!!

Also, I'm glad to see a few more people have signed up for the xmas fic competition, I can't wait to get more stories so I can post them all up!!!

Below are details of some planned maintenance by my host server, so Gluttony and Temperance may be down during these times.

Date: The works have been scheduled for December 3, cutover will occur at some time between Dec3 2330- Dec4 0100 (1130pm-0130am AEDST).

Note: There is a small chance that works may be pushed back to December 4/5. If this is the case, we will send an additional notification.

Where the site info is listed and you see:

I now have the 'Beta Readers' linked to show who have said 'Yes' to being a Beta Reader in their profile. You can also access this page if you are viewing the list of Members or Authors by going to the drop down menu and selecting 'Beta-Reader'.

After much discussion, debate and mind bending conversations, I am down grading my Alcohol Use/Abuse and Drug Use/Abuse warnings to a 15+ level.

Depending on your other content, you may now have a 15+ rating with the above mentioned warnings.

Just to give you a visual on the prizes, here is what you can get:

Just to let you know, I haven't forgotten. I'm in the process of getting all the awards made and posted. I've been a bit tired lately with my new bubs, but every spare chance I have, I get on here and make more awards :)

ENTRIES OPEN NOW!!

Christmas is almost here, so to celebrate the festive season, I'm issuing a writing competition.

The Rules:

1. You MUST sign up to let me know you are participating.
2. The story must be in the form of a one-shot with a minimum of 1500 words.
3. There are two categories - Harry Potter Fan Fiction (any era,characters, etc) and Original Fiction.
4. The story must have Christmas as the main theme or time frame in your story.
5. You must submit your stories to me at admin@gluttonyfiction.com and do NOT reveal who you are or what story is yours. I will add all stories to the archive for everyone to read.
6. Entries must be in by 13th of December, 2008
7. Voting for stories will commence on the 14th - the 21st of December.
8. Prizes for first place will be a Gluttony Pen and a small magnet. 2nd and third prizes will be the small magnets.
9. Have fun!!!

Okay, as I prepare to hunt for November's Featured Stories, it is also time to look ahead. Christmas will soon be upon us and I'd like to know how many of you have or will have a story to help celebrate the festive season.

So, if you can, please leave a comment to this news item if you have a christmas story or a story based upon this time of year, so I may get ready for the festive season ahead and have these stories highlighted.
